What little girl, or big girl for that matter doesn’t like pink lip balm?
Nothing makes you feel better & prettier than applying slick, shiny pink chap stick to your lips.
My girls love chap stick, but I’m not keen on them licking petrochemicals & dyes off their lips all day long. So we decided to get in the kitchen & make our own from all natural, organic, edible ingredients that I am completely happy with my girls eating & licking off their lips all day long.
This chap stick is so great because it’s pink hue comes from organic beetroot that has been dehydrated & powdered, there are no foreign dyes or colours.
We have flavoured our chap sticks with sweet orange essential oil, but you could also use peppermint oil for a fresh flavour & extra lip plumping properties, my girls just won’t have a bar of it.
Pink Lip Balm a’la Mama Going Natural
- 2 tablespoon’s beeswax
- 2 tablespoon’s cocoa butter
- 2 tablespoon’s oil of your choice (I used coconut oil)
- 10 drops sweet orange essential oil
- 1 teaspoon organic beetroot powder
- dash of honey to taste.
Place wax, butter, oil & beetroot powder in a jar & melt in a simmering pan of water. Stir well to mix your beetroot powder in well.
Once melted take off the heat & let it cool a little, add your honey & essential oil & stir well to combine.
Pour into chapstick tubes & let it cool & viola you have your own natural, safe, chap stick.
This recipe made 8 chap stick tubes, so you will have plenty to share around.
